Hi,
Could you post where you got your new usb cord from. I lost mine and can't find one any where that will fit this camera.
Thanks...

How do i download pics from my DXG 5.1 megapixel camera w/o software?

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Operation

Hi,

You can download the free instruction manual in PDF format by clicking this link.
  • You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your computer to view the manual. If it is not already installed on your computer, download it free from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

Uploading pics

- Connect the smaller end of the USB
cable into the USB port of your DXG.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB port.
- The Digital video camera’s LCD Panel will turn on and will display
the PC Connection Menu
- Press the select button up or down button to select Mass Storage
Device option on the menu screen.

Goto my computer, you can see new 1 drive appear (or 2 if you have SD card in your DXG). So now you can copy/upload your pictures to your computer hard disk.

I lost the cable that hooks the camera to the computer.

Just get a multi card reader. It will plug into the a USB slot and show up in MY COMPUTER (PC). It will also allow you to read other types of media cards from other cameras. They are cheap at staples or best buy etc.. Easier to get than the cable. Also faster reading of the card. I have never used the cable to any digital camera.

Well i have a DXG 3.0 megapixel video camera im having problems uploading pictures to my computer.Ive put the disk in that it came with but that doesn,t even work.So im pretty much running out of options...

Highly recommend that you consider using a card reader to download your pictures. You insert the camera's memory card into the reader, and then insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. The card then shows up as a hard drive so that you can simply copy/paste or drag your picture files onto your computer. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples from Amazon:

The DXG uses SD cards:

DXG-506V LCD comes on Blank White Screen

I had the same problem ...I bought a new 2 GB SD card put it in the camera and it worked fine.

It may have had something to do with formatting ..I tried to format the other card wiyh my computer when the video camera would stay on.
I tried to reset the camera that didn't work either.
The new SD Card did work.
