well my guesses,,
1: system is virus infected, do a full HP media reinstall. end. issues.
2: if device manager is missing? all your key hardware!!!
that means windows lacks the base line drivers for you your LT.
tell me someone installed non HP,com OS from say MS direct.
there are only 2 sources of OS
HP
and
MS.

ok went to Hp.com for you
shows its VISTA, this is some old LT. circa 2007
(10 years old) but has very very old buggy vista.
so if not vista, loaded from HP
then its the wrong OS, installed. (is it wrong?)

next time say what OS is there, so helpers can even begin to help.

now how to load fresh Vista on this box LT.
there are 2 ways, (there is a 3rd I will not cover)
1: put in the HP recovery CD and load it. bingo fixed.
2: install windows vista someway, (missing all your unique chip drivers. then
on the below web site you would install all drives manually
taking about a days labor.
they must be installed in the correct order and correct version
and precedence.
on newer LT , HP as a softpaq, loader, that loads them all in the correct order and all that. but on this old laptop , no SOFTPAQ

The newer driver from the HP web-site should have "upgraded" the driver that came from the CD-ROM -- you don't need to uninstall the "older" driver, before installing the "newer" driver.

Did you then uninstall the "newer" driver?

Did you then install the "older" driver from the CD-ROM?

Did you install PhotoSmart 2.5, and then did you re-install it from the CD-ROM?

To fix this problem first you have to do a hard reset by pressing and holding the cancel and the left arrow while plugging in the power cord. This performs a partial reset which will give access to the country and region settings if they are available.
If that doesn't solve your problem uninstall and reinstall the driver. Its always possible that you may have an actual hardware/parts problem in the printer. To uninstall the driver first you should open your "Control Panel Utility", then open the "Add/Remove Programs", then under "Install/Uninstall", highlight and "Remove" any old printer drivers that may already be installed. Sometimes the same older drivers can be corrupted and conflict with newer drivers. The specs for it are 3 years old, and indicate that you may not have enough RAM memory, as the base unit came with very little. Compare the laptop specs with the game's minimums - I think that you will be well below the minimums on all the newer games.

yes. there is a high probability that the problem is hardware. try different versions of synaptics, not necessarily from toshiba

toward the right bottem coner do u see the speaker icon if yes then the drivers r install correctly if not then reinstall the drivers
