Resetting the EDA

There are two reset functions, warm boot and cold boot. A warm boot restarts the EDA by closing all running
programs. A cold boot also restarts the EDA, and also resets the clock. Data saved in flash memory or a memory card is not lost.
Perform a warm boot first. If the EDA still does not respond, perform a cold boot.

Performing a Warm Boot - Soft reset

Hold down the Power button for approximately five seconds. As soon as the EDA starts to boot release the Power button.

Performing a Cold Boot - Hard reset

To perform a cold boot simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

On my PDA MC70 it is showing WI-FI "unavailable"

This can get kind of complicated, and your wireless carrier may block this depending on the data plan. It's also different for the MC7095 (CDMA) and MC7094 (GSM/GPRS) models. You may also want to see if your device BSP release is up-to-date.

Here is some basic info for the MC7095 (Sprint):

Device was not connected to network to start.
Went to Start, Programs, Internet Sharing, tapped Connect, showed Status: Check USB connection. Internet Sharing drivers were installed on laptop computer, then device displayed Internet Sharing Status "Connected". We were able to browse the web on the laptop computer. Closed out of Internet Sharing (tap X on upper right hand corner). On device, tapped Start, Internet Explorer, attempted to browse to a webpage. Able to browse on both laptop computer and MC7095 device.

Note: Attempted to Disconnect the Internet Sharing session, unable to. The device does not appear to respond to the "Disconnect" option on bottom left of screen. When tapping "Disconnect" the option light up as if being tapped however the device itself shows no other changes and Status still displays :Connected.
***FYI*** In testing with a different MC7095 (BSP33) we experienced the same issues with not being able to "Disconnect" the Internet Sharing session.

My MC70 work symbol wont respond to my touch screen pen

Does it respond to keyboard entry? If not, check to see if the "lock" icon on the screen is in the locked position. It's real easy to accidentially lock the device. If it is, just click on the lock and confirm that you want to unlock.

The next few can be a problem if the screen is not responding, so you'll need to figure out the keyboard equivalent:

You may also want to check the system settings. I believe there is a setting that will enable you to "turn off" the touch screen function.

Finally, try a touchscreen alignment in the system settings.

When mc70 is in standby and receive a sms , says invalid sim

Is there a chance the account on your wireless carrier has had text messaging disabled? This is done sometimes to eliminate the cost of text messaging. Who is the carrier?

Also, I've seen something similar to this long ago when dealing with the AT&T / Cingular merger. Some of the "old" SIM cards did some strange things. ATT replaced them but I thought it was a hassle porting the phone numbers.

No,
Not using the touch screen.
But you can reboot from the POWER Button
By holding it in for 5 Secounds, ( this is a warm reboot)
By holding the power button plus the 1and the 9 buttonat the same time is a cold boot. This is a better way...
Hope this helps you!!!
