What do you mean by this blank screen. A screen with back light only? A screen without any back light [dark screen]? Provide more details please. If you wish to get details about these type of faults to Sony LCD TVs, check this link.

Does set do this on all inputs including one with a DVD unit connected and playing? Answer will at least narrow possible reason down a bit.

I will try a new T-CON board first.

If you have a cable box you probably need to reset it.

on your set there is inverter board that is what lights up th backlight on your TV making everything visible that board has went bad.

I do not see any reference on this problem and I even checked with Sony. If you are on a cable box, I suspect that is the problem.
