download an updated version of samsung kies, check whether it is for 32 bit or 64 bits of OS for windows based PC.Also there should be an option on your phone when you attach it to a USB port of whether to transfer file thru USB or thru kies.also turn-off debugging mode in your phone settings, usually found in the developers settings or conectivity.
after plugging the usb cable you need to go to menu Settings Connectivity USB USB debugging.
or just choose to see the memory and set
Settings Connectivity USB Mass storage Set.
Or yhou can use Samsung Kies, which you need to install
In Menu mode, select 1 Settings Connectivity
USB Samsung Kies Set.
try disconnect it from samsung kies..and if it doesnt help try the Safely Remove Hardware. and if both of them doesnt work. shut down ur pc and go to settings ->connectivity->and select either samsung kies or mass storage.
go to settings select about there you will find usb connection change it to mass storage or disk.
if you want to konnect kies pc sync select pc sync. kies is loaded inside phone memory.
I had this problem. Don't know why it is not detecting it. I just installed Kies on different pc with windows xp it worked since I had spare system at home. It seems there should be some conflicts
Set to 'Ask on Connection' from the Settings > Connectivity >
USB.This way when you connect the phone to the PC, you can select
Kies.If
its still not connecting, try connecting it in mass storage mode first
to install the drivers. Connect it via USB and select mass storage mode
when the list appears on the phone. You should see drivers installing
on your PC screen. Then disconnect the phone and reconnect it. This
time select Kies and it should connect to the software now.
Also,you
may have noticed that when you plug the phone in that a message appears
saying "close all applications" To do this press the middle button on
your phone for a few seconds until, "end all applications" appear. Once
this has been done connect your phone and every thing should work fine.
open the phone settings through the settings option in the main menu, scroll down and click on the pc connections option and select the appropriate option (mass storage for transfering files, samsung kies to access files via the kies software)
Connect to the PC then you hold the press in your phone's menu key then your phone shows connected. It is because your phone connect to pc in IDLE Mode.
