My brand new tv was delivered today...I hooked it up and it was great but after being on for less than 2 hours the screen faded to white and vertical lines appeared on the screen. There is some shades of color but not much else. The audio is fine but even when I turn the TV on the normal LG message doesn't appear.

The main board and the power supply is bad for your TV and it would be more easier to buy a new TV than to try and fix the current TV that you have and that our TV could of had died on you.

Sounds like the power supply has filtering issues, in other words bad capacitors. its best to have a tv shop take a look at it. they shouldn't charge you. good luck

Vertical lines in the display indicate a failing screen. New screens are expensive and not worth the labor and parts charges to repair it. It's new monitor time.

unplug and replug from wall. See if that helps. Ours decided to turn to white and not show any picture now. This is a quirky tv. When it works it is great, when it does not work, it really makes you mad. It is brand new!!!

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.

My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.

Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

you have a shorted green CRT that is affecting the other crts the short is internat to the crt that leaves what is called retrace lines. if the set is more than three years old then replace all three guns.
