If you have condensation on the inside of the glass your camera has been shorted out maybe letting it dry out for a few days would work but you can also try a local camera shop and see if they can help.

My pentax w90 will only take a photo automatically when turned on,

Per Evan89's remark above, on these units the "shutter" button fails in the "on" or "down" position. There are a lot of reports on the internet. As soon as you turn the camera on it charges the flash and takes one or more pictures. It won't respond to other controls because it senses that the shutter bitton is depressed. A side effect is that the battery drains quickly.
I'm looking around to see if I can order a replacement switch assembly since these cameras are easy to take apart.

Why not look in the manual to see if there are any settings you have inadvertently changed ? BTW, you don't need a tall building - knocking it off a table would probably have the same effect.

I have set the run time on my salt water pump and then locked it back to pushing the buttons it shows the time but there are no green lights showing. Did I forget to do something?

one the run time is set you have 2 options

wiat 2-10 minutes for the system to lock itself and for the second green light to come on this mean you are generating

GET OUT OFF GREEN MODE

geeze! after reading all the little advice i could find.... i came across a picture of my camera - what it looked like brand new. and i realized that all the time i had been confused about the constant advice: "press the green button to get out of green mode". confused because my camera had no "green button"..... i didn't realize until i saw the picture of what my camera looked like new, that infact my camera did have a freakin green button! it had just been worn off over time!! and infact the button that is the "trash/delete" button..... was actually colored GREEN when i first got it!! good lord!! i hope there's someone out there that has had their pentax so long that the color-coded colored buttons have worn off..........  i feel kinda dumb, seeing as how the "green button was right in front of me the WHOLE time!!

IstD shutter release problem

I've had similar problems with my Pentax Super-A on an intermittent basis. If you haven't replaced the batteries I suggest you try that first. Not sure why, but that has sorted my problem out quite a few times (even when the existing batteries still have a fair amount of juice left in them).
