Pioneer pdp 503

The set can be set right by repair. You must have through knoledge in electronics to do work with set. especially, plasma displays will have very complicated circuits. It Sustain-Boards suld be trouble shooted.

I have a Pioneer Plasma TV Model No. PDP-503 PG but I lost my user manual. How can I get it.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

In the process of having mine repaired at a cost of AU $1280.00.
It is a problem with the media box boards.

Anything is repairable as long as the screen isn't damaged.
The sound you heard is most likely was a capacitor that just went dead.
Solder in a new capacitor should fix the problem. It would most likely be on the power supply board somewhere.

The issue with the power supply in the plasmas listed above does not pose any health or safety risk. Pioneer has received reports that the power supply in the affected models may fail. yes my friend that's fixable. the ph capacitor that is located in horizontal section is leaking.

I bought a 503 which had this problem, it would stay on for anything between 10 mins & 3 hours.
the guy told me he had been told it was a condensation sensor.
All I did was take back off, blow it out all boards with an air line, disconect fans. I ve had it 6 months now with not a single problem.

You need a new y-drive board and possibly a couple of buffer ic's replaced.The ic's definiately need to be replaced by a tv tech.
