Hi I have a Panasonic VIERA TX-32LZD80 32 in. LCD TV TV which will not turn on. The standby light will flash continuously, but will stay on red if I press on the on button using the remote. My TV is only 18months old. I have tried unplugging the TV from the mains for a few hours and restarting but the same problem persists. Is there a solution to this problem without the need to get it sent off to be repaired? If it does have to be sent off to be repaired will I be able to charge the bill to the seller or panasonic due to the faulty unit? Thanks Nick

SOURCE: Panasonic 32 inch LCD TV will not turn on-red light flashing

The number of flashes is an error code. Count the number of flash. It looks like one of the boards in your set is failing intermittently. Panasonic codes for a guide as a starting point. Exact board STILL has to be verified;
One Blink: One blink of the power LED indicates a problem in the inverter circuit located on the LCD panel. The inverter board is not to be repaired in the field. Therefore a replacement is required.
Three Blinks: Three blinks of the power LED indicates an over-current or over-voltage condition in one of the DC supplies of the AP board. The AP board is repairable. Therefore the use of an ohmmeter and peak-hold-voltmeter is required to determine the cause of the shutdown. An over-voltage condition is definitely a defect of the AP board. An over-current condition may be due to a short circuit located in the AP board, A board, or the LCD panel.
Five, Seven, or Eight Blinks: The A board is responsible for five, seven or eight blinks of the power LED. The MAIN +3.3V, MAIN +5V, and MAIN +9V sources are all produced on the A board. The detection input pins of the MPU, IC1100, monitor for their presence.
Four or Six Blinks: The AP board is responsible for four or six blinks of the power LED. The DTV9V, and SUB_5V sources are produced on the AP board. The MPU IC1100 monitors for their presence when the unit is connected to AC Power. A short or open circuit on the A board may also be responsible for their absence.
Nine Blinks: Nine blinks of the power LED is due a short circuit in the audio output circuit (s) of the unit. The audio output circuit is located on the A board. Confirm the status of the speakers. If defective, perform a replacement. If ok, replace the A board.
Ten Blinks: Ten blinks of the power LED indicates a malfunction of IC4200, the frame converter. This IC resides on the A board. Therefore ten blinks of the power LED requires the replacement of the A board.

SOURCE: panasonic viera tv won't turn on. Power light

hello, you have a either your su, sd or sc boards fualty and it is a driver sos1 thats what the manual reads the best thing to do if your not electronically inclined or able to fix it is to get a service manual and make sure it is for your specific model and size you will find what the 7 blink codes mean, on my side i have a 42 in pana the service manual for this set and your is similar so since it is not the same model i cant tell you exactly what the truoble is but your best bet is to find a service manual find the 7 blink fualt then without getting ripped off you will know what the service man needs to do if you dont know or cant replace the parts yourself that is besides having to download firmware from your computer to a sd card and update your set but you need to solve the blinking code first it may solve the entire issue. the tv should come on when you resolve the blink codes or replace the fualty board or boards

TV flickers then turns off. Standby light continuously flashes red. All fuses, cables and batteries checked and no problem with sound.

The T con board controls the picture. It has a problem and needs to be replaced. You can get the board from:
TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy
You can replace this board yourself if you're not afraid to take the back off the TV.

The television just turned itself off and all I get is a red light flashing on and off

Unfortunately your tv has failed.
The flashing light is a code (number of flashes etc) bit like morse code that tells the engineer what the problem is.
You will have to take it in for repair.

My tv intermittantly turns off, the LED red light continues to blink. Turning off and then turning the TV back on after a few moments rectifies the problem - but it will recurr after a while.

TV won't turn on with remote (new batteries)

Sounds like a power supply problem. The blinking light is never a good sign. Is it still under warranty?

Re: my 32" Panasonic Viera Lcd-- The red power light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off for another few seconds, then starts blinking. The screen stays black and there is no sound. Bob in LB

id suspect its going in to a shut down mode its likley a power supply problem
but there are inverter boards that can cause this as well
you will probably want to find a servicer in your area to assist with this repair
