Distorted sound on my LG 42LG50 HD LCD TV. Has been repaired 3+ times under warranty, with no success. LG refuses to replace, since it is now out of warranty, though problem persists beyond the warranty period. Repairs already done include replacement of the main speakers, replacement (X2) of the main board, placing foam in TV to try to stop vibration. None of these attempted repairs worked. I believe this TV to be a "lemon."

What is done is opened the tv up, turned it on and turned it up found where the vibration was coming from, it was loose (rattling) so i stuffed a pair of socks in and it wedged it together, 6 months later Still not a problem, please note (not a recommended solution) but does work !

Ur last chance, might be the power supply board, could have very small amount dip current going through ur tv main Tuner board causes this problem. We might be fishing here, but this is the only logical answer left.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power suppply for the replacement.

Why does my LG tv seems like it need to warm up before it will accept HDMI signal?

Sounds like a capacitor fault. They can be intermittent when cold, but will work okay when warm. Eventually though they will fail.

This is your advance notice to get the set either repaired by the manufacturer or a local TV shop.

If it is less than a year old than it is still under Warranty from LG. Their Customer Service Number is 1800-243-000. It sounds like to me it needs a Main Board to be replaced. Let LG help you get in touch with a Factory Service Facility to get you back up running again.

Sound issue on LG 42LG50

make sure the dish network menu settings in setup under audio are on high. Some tv's require it to be off. Try both and see what works. Also the delay is caused by digital conversion. new stereos have settings for this delay and they have delay boxes for sale online. You could try to change your delay settings on your stereo surround to help. I had to do this.
