After exposing the enameled wires...light a match and burn the enamel off the wires,.careful not to over burn. ...twist the two ends together or (solder) and viola!

The wires are probably enamel insulated. The enamel must be removed, and then the wires properly soldered and insulated. If you do not have experience at this and have the proper tools, it will be a difficult job to do.

Maybe to have this fixed, you can take the headset to a TV service shop, or if you know a tech who will give some time to do this for you. If you have to pay a tech to do this type of fix, the cost may be more than what the headset is worth.

If it is an expensive headset, I would recomend to send the headset to the manufacture to have the wire completely replaced.

My head set seems to be fine ,but the mic. is not working is there a way I can dismantal it and chk to see if I can fix it on my own?

I had the same problem. Upon close inspection of the wire that comes out of the boom mic, I found that it was frayed and if manipulated I could get some function out of it. I took off the speaker on the boom side, the one screw holding the boom and the circuit board so I had a little more freedom to move the components around on the desk.

The thing that stumped me for awhile was how to take the boom apart because the wire damage was partially inside the boom. It took a great deal of force, but with a knife I got it to snap apart. Then the wire repair. This wire is an inner core and outer casing. I did not have any spare to replace the whole thing, so I carefully separated the strands from the two conductor 'streams'. I did a hack solder job which required the wire to be shorter, but there was enough slack to do that. The boom has some in and out adjustment, so I put it all the way in to help make up for the shorter wire. I did not make enough room to use shrink wrap, so I had to use tape to insulate between the two.

I tested it in it's disassembled state and it worked, so that is good until I find some similar wire to replace the whole strand. I wont move the mic up and down as that was the source of the original fatigue even though the mute function on mic up wasn't working so I did not use it often anyway.

My head set just stopped working no sound, mic dosent work or anything, plugged in a second headset to make sure it wasnt the jack, definately something wrong with the razer. any suggestions? where do i...

Possible that the wires would have wriggled off from the jack side due to some ****. to confirm you will need to check one by one afteropening the sides, the continutiy of the wires to the jack and to the mic.
if ther is no continutiy replace the wires and jack. You can also dissect the jack to get to the problem and patch this up after finding the open wire. Ok

The cord to the tv is broken

You can find an electrician who can repair this. He will be sure to wire a new cord in, using correct polarity, which is a must.

Motorola mic no longer works. Any fixes?

This is probably a broken wire inside. the microphone piece moves back and forth to turn this unit off and on and the wires have broken because of it. there is a similiar problem with the H800 as the mic extends in and out to turn it on and off.

Broken wire to my microphone on my lifechat lx-3000

You cant wire then directly there is a USB D-A chip that controls the headset converting to 1/8" mini plugs may work one for the mic and one stereo plug for the earcups

HS 600 cyber acoustics mic isnt working...

The issue lies in the glass fiber wire, the wire is coated with a conductive metal only a fe mircons thick.

Simply put the headset is a poor production model, the use of glass fiber wire more often than not results in a short in the wiring. Thus the sound will come out of one side, not at all, etc.

Cant talk

Try going to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices Click on Voice Tab and make sure the proper device is selected. Click on Volume and make sure levels are appropriate. Lastly, click on Test Hardware and wait until you can speak into the mic to see the voice levels. If you can see the voice levels, then your mic probably works and it is just an issue of configing the COD settings. goodl luck
