My batteries died so I replaced them with a new set. The new set would not power it up so I purchased more and still no power. The camera is only 3 months old and has only taken about 35 photos. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have sent the camera twice for fixex and it has done it once more; I think this camera is a lemon.

same problem; Christmas present to my (responsible) young son; used for 170 pix, now will not even turn on, even with fresh batteries. Very annoying as you others have same trouble.

my camera was working perfectly but not it will not turn on, the batteries are fully charged and the correct ones for the camera, mine is now stuck with the lens fully extended! it turns on for a second and goes straight back off again but not enough time for the lens to retract.

Are you using the batteries listed as compatible according to the cameras battery door? Or are you using NON-compatible Alkaline or Ni-Cad batteries? Only Li-Ion and Ni-MH are compatible. Hope this helps...

Camera won't turn on with fully charged batteries. Camera worked fine for 2 years and 2 weeks after warranty was over it will no longer turn on.

Seems that the control board is faulty if you are quite sure that the batteries are fully charges and giving good contact.
Remove off battery for some time and reset the battery , hold down power and see if there is any signs of life.
If not the camera be referred to Kodak with a plea for consideration..you might get an advantage.

My camra worked just fine, then when I tried to turn it on it wont turn on no matter what I do

Please try the following: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Optimal Zoom lens not retracting and does not turn on

Have you tried purchasing a new set of batteries and installing them into the camera? I know you said the previous ones were fully charged but if you put the batteries on the charger when they are not completely discharged they will give a false charge... It's the same issue with cell phone batteries you have to let it die as much as possible before charging to avoid battery cell disintegration..

When the EasyShare digital camera is not in use, and the battery is fully charged, can I leave the camera (turned off) in the dock?

The EasyShare camera dock automatically stops charging the batteries after it registers a full charge, so it is fine to leave the EasyShare digital camera on the EasyShare camera dock for short periods. However, leaving the camera on the dock for longer periods (days or weeks) is not recommended because this can cause problems with your camera and the batteries.
