This is what I did to get mine going again. If your unit has lost all memory then you might find it tough to get it back online. It takes sometimes many many many hours
1. power off
2. press the power button;
3. immediately press and hold the right arrow button down until you see "delete memory" message
4. release the right arrow button;
5. select YES
6. press ENTER;
7. reinitialize the unit (EZSETUP)
8. Set the time to your local time (with no daylight savings)
9. Set the date to 7169 days from todays date. (if today's date is 1 Jan 2018 then set the date to 17 May 1998 (Yep its so old it has a Y2K bug)
It should take a few hours to pick up a pos
Leave it on for a while, 1+ hour

If I am correct you can put it on the sd card
There should be a slot for the card on the unit .
also you can check on their web page .

I had the same problem. Found this link

As suggested at the end of the above thread I left my unit outside for a couple of hours and it suddenly sprang into life. Now it reliably gets a fix in 2 to 3 minutes when I switch it on.
My theory is that because it is only a 2 channel unit it takes hours to acquire a fix when the memory is blank.
The manual says it will keep it's memory for a month without batteries.
So if you leave the batteries out for more than a month, or move it more than 250 miles and then switch it on expect it to take a while to first fix.
Otherwise it's a nice little unit.

you need to use windows 2000 or XP to link your 3000 to your computer. if your using one or the other already, then try another usb port or another cable.

Hi,
Try pressing select, esc, power, all at the same time.
Please let me know if it helps.
Thanks

Usually answered in minutes!
Try leaving the batteries out overnight. Install batteries, turn unit on and enter your location and time BUT DON'T change the date. Mine was April 4,1998 as default. It pcked up all seven satellites in 20 minutes.
