This has gas coils on top of the gas valve the flame might ignite for the first 10 to 15 minutes but if the coils are failing you won't have any flame after they heat up,when they cool down they will work again so i would say you have bad gas coils,easy fix,remove the two phillips screws,remove the top cover,remove the connectors off of the coils and reinstall the new coils,watch out for the large coil,there's a spacer that slides onto the post,if it's not there poke it out of the old coil and slide it back on the post and then slide the large coil onto the post,i've gone in and found this missing on some dryers that the customer had changed out the coils themselves before,it will still work but it can chatter alot.also while your in there remove the thermal fuse and the cycling t-stat both on the blower wheel housing and make sure there's no lint buildup on the back of them,if so just clean them off and you'll be fine
one more thing when the heat cuts out from the coils failing and then there's no heat the timer won't advance if there's no heat,the way it works is the heat comes on and then reaches temp. and the heat shuts down,then when there's no heat the timer will advance a little until the clothes are dry,if there's no heat it won't move.

Did this tech do some wash to the dryer and feel that there was no heat?

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.
1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first.
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE! They sense this and stay clear.

surprising how much lint you can get out of a dryer
UNPLUG
after clearing all the lint,
examine devices::
thermal fuses, thermostats and the heater element for conductivity.
remove 1 wire from each to isolate from the circuit, test with ohmmeter or battery and bulb, replace wire
when cold all devices in the heater circuit should conduct
when cold a small device in the motor circuit that looks the same as all the other devices, a cool down thermostat does NOT conduct

I would suspect the timer is on it's way out the door. Do you have any areas the timer has dead spots? Check the exhaust for any plugging also.Is this only on a first time start up or is it after this dryer has been running? If after running it could be a high temp sensor, that by the time you are playing around with it, the temp has changed.

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
A2 - If the vent doesn't make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check that there isn't anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum, (i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into the drum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heating element isn't shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A meat or pocket thermometer can be used for this. It should cycle between 120 degrees and 170 degrees. Check that the drum seals to make sure the are not worn out.

long dry times are a venting problem. if no heat at all it could be your ignitor, a thermal fuse, or the secondary gas coils, all are replaceable and reasanoblyy cheap between 30-90 dollars usually so its up to u it u want to repair it.. if long dry times i would unplug the venting from the rear and dry a load if it heats faster than u know ur venting is clogged and u might wanna clean ur ducting and replace that venting tube. also u can go outside while running and see or feel if air is being pushed out while its running hope this helps let me know how it goes
