PANASONIC dmcfz8 Problem: When I turn on the camera and remove the lens cap I get a message on the lens that says "remove lens cap & press button". It seems like the zoom is stuck. We were using the camera for a inside night graduation & was at a distance from the subject that we wanted to shoot. After a few zoom shots we shut the camera off and when we tried to take more pictures the above problem started. Please Help!

Lumix DMC FZ35 Lens Opens and Retracts Continually When Turning the Camera on.

it sounds like it has slipped a gear in the lens.. you could try to manually push the lens in when it comes out and that might reset it but it also might break it.. best is to send it back to panasonic.. is a easy fix

lens cap means a cap in your camera lens, you have to remove it manually with your hand and not just a push buttons.

Hi my camera is telling me to...

Is the camera turned on? Removed the Cap on the Zoom lens? Try turning it off and on, while the cap cover on the lens is removed, then press the heart button and take some photos. What specifically is the warning?

Lumix DMCFZ8

I had the same problem after dropping the camera. In my case, the lens became jammed. Of course your problem may be due to something else. In my case, I disassembed the camera and reassembled it and it now works fine. It was a bit time-consuming to do, but is possible.

I used these instructions, although they are for a somewhat different model. http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-Stuck-Lens-on-Panasonic-FZ5/

In the case of the FZ5, some people reported being able to get the lens to work by manipulating the lens without taking the camera apart. This might work if the cog inside has slipped off of it's track. In that case it might be possible to work it back into place. If the cog is intact, though, forcing the lens might damage it.

LCD showing "remove len cap and press reset button" always

Simple! Read warnings carefully! It said "remove lens cap and press SET button"! So remove the lens cap and then press the SET button (or arrow downward in the four directions button)! You don´t need to RESET anything...
