I have a 2001 ford f150, cd is stuck display keeps saying bad disk/cd error, display keeps showing that message even when off. it keeps draining the battery especially when cold, I've put in a new battery. ?

When CD ERROR shows on the player display, there is a problem with the CD mechanism. It will have to be sent out or taken to a repair shop to have it fixed.

Play just went bad on you and it is a common thing to happen. You can try putting a cleaning disk in it before you pronounce it dead but a reading error is not worth fixing.

You listed this in the auto section, so I'm not sure just where you have the problem. When you receive an error like this and you've tried several disks with the same result it means your CD player is bad and must be replaced.

I don't have a solution but I also have this problem.. any fix??

This is if the cluster lighting still works, but the display is blank. Don't know if you mean the gauges in the cluster do not work.

I have the same exact problem:2001 Landcruiser will not play dvd/cd. It gets stuck. Display of dvd error shows. DVD can not eject. Please let me know if you got it to eject. I tried disconnect/connect the battery for full 5 minutes but did not help.

you may have set the cd burn onto mp3 instead of audio cd... if you're using a program like itunes, you can determine the output to be mp3 or cd audio... hope that helps...

Sorry bud, replace the cd player.... it's probably worn out. Check out the JVC, Sony, Pioneer and Alpine units for quality at affordable prices. HarmanKardon is better - except on your wallet :P
