Sounds like the icemaker drain is clogged and the fill process overflowed the unit. the water then froze the drain and all overflowed water from icemaker. Remove icemaker and remove all ice from freezer and icemaker. Clean all drains. Reinstall.
HI this is just a test the icemaker runs when you first turn it on, its not suppose to fill up the tray, it will fill it when the icemaker reaches the correct temperature, if its not cold enough in the freezer it wont kick on, if its been sitting for several hours and still wont fill or make ice, you need a new icemaker. The new icemaker part # is WR30X10093
SOMETIMES THE ICE FILL TUBE FREEZES UP, TO CHECK THIS REMOVE YOUR ICEMAKER AND LOOK UP IN THE FILL TUBE , IF IT IS THAW OUT, IF IT IS NOT IT MIGHT BE YOUR WATER VALVE,( YOUR WATER IN THE DOOR WILL STILL WORK) OR IT MIGHT BE THE ICEMAKER ITSELF
first thing to do is check to see that water is getting to the icemaker simply stick your finger inside the ice maker and check that there is water in there usually icemaker can be removed by three screws 1/4" against the wall if you have water and can feel ice on the inside remove the icemaker and flush with hot water then reattach the ice maker and wait 24 hrs to see if you get ice if it still does not work then your in need of a new icemaker which uyu can get from marcone appliance parts they willship the unit directly to your door and you wont have to pay a technicain installation charge hope this helps
wait, you say you swapped the sides of the water valve? so am i to understand that you took the water line that went to the icemaker fill tube, took that out of the valve, and placed it into the solenoid for the water dispenser? that wont tell you if your ICEMAKER solenoid is bad, it only proves that your water dispenser solenoid is good.
if i had to guess, you have a bad dual water valve
sounds like you have a bad water valve solenoid. check the ½" diameter fill tube that feeds the water into the fillcup of the icemaker, you may have to remove the icemaker to see inside. is this tube frozen with ice? if it is, you have a bad solenoid.
Take a 4 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip 1 inch of insulation off each end. Bend the wire into a U shape.Remove the plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Insert the bare ends into the terminals marked T and H on the face of the icemaker. The wheel should move and dispense the ice into the bucket. If it does not move and drop the ice replace the icemaker.
Put about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , replace the water inlet valve . If the ice stays in the icemaker , replace the icemaker . Also , make sure the fill tube to icemaker is clear of ice and the coils under refrig are clean of dust , lint , etc..
on your icemaker you can tell if its a internal problem or a water valve ,,,,, 1st feel inside for any ice ,,, if ice is in icemaker the valve is working ,,, pull fingers on icemaker to get it started and watch it, if it makes its cycle and fills again the the icemaker itself is bad ,,, contact me and i will see if i can help with part or parts / larry
