SOURCE: Frigidaire Affinity Door Lock
under 1st yr warr, sure if thats he issue they would cover, it, a clogged drain pump may cause the same problem though , not being able to drain water , the pump would just hum.
SOURCE: pau err
I have had that problem before...Try unplugging it and plugging it back in...sometimes it's almost like dealing with a computer.
SOURCE: my Frigidaire affinity washer doesn't
If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.
SOURCE: Frigidaire Laundry center blows circuit when w/d run at same time
Okay, here's the best I can do from this distance.
The combo unit is on a 30-amp, 220-volt circuit. One cord supplies both washer and dryer.
The breaker does not trip until the washer motor starts running simultaneous with the dryer drying.
My guess is that (if the combo unit is connected correclty to the one supply cord) the dryer motor runs off the 110 volt supplied by the red/white wires & the washer motor runs off the other 110 volt leg, black/white (could be vice-versa, but that's irrelevant).
The dryer heating element runs off the 220 volt supplied by the red/black wires.
There are two most likely causes (but not the only possibilities):
- The breaker is bad -- could just be oxidation on the breaker contacts in the bteaker box -- I havae seen this conditon -- small amounts of oxidation can cause the breaker to overheat and trip -- of course, the more current the load draws the hotter the breaker gets.
- One of the motors (washer or dryer) is beginnig to fail (windings beginning to short) and drawing more than rated current which is overloading the breaker.
Checking thes two theories requires some not-so-standard equipment, and some more-than-handyman expertise. And if neither of these theories pans out, the troubleshooting gets more complicated.
So, to address your original question, "Can I fix it myself, or should I hire someone?, I would say you should hire someone. This wirite-up may give them a head start.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Charlie
P.S.
A third possibility (only possible if this tripping condition ahs existed from the beginnig of the w/d installation) is that the power cord is connected to the unit such that both motors are powered by the same 110 volt leg. Not being there to assess this, I can't say how likely this is, but it's a long shot for sure.
SOURCE: Thermal limiter stops dryer; replaced multiple times. Dryer dead.
I think you are working on the wrong end. Check the fan and inlet ductwork of the dryer, if the air isn't moving properly, it will not move enough to keep the coils and limiters cool and they will fail after working properly a few times.
Hello Philip, I appreciate your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided you need help with replacing the belt on your Frigidaire laundry center. In order to access the pulley you would need to disassemble the laundry center. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional technician for proper disassembly of your laundry center. Incorrect disassembly could cause personal harm or future issues within the laundry center. Best of luck! -Matt
Thank you for your inquiry, Caroline!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire laundry center is no longer working. I understand that you had to shut off power to your house and now your laundry center is not coming on. It sounds like you could have a possible short within your timer. I would recommend performing a reset on your laundry center and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with your dishwasher can you provide me with your model number? In order to locate your model number you can find the serial tag and that should be located on the inside wall of your dishwasher. I look forward to assisting you further. -OOS
Hi Keith Knapp, I appreciate your inquiry!
I understand that your Frigidaire laundry center is not filling with water. It sounds like you could be having a problem within water valve, control board, or door switch. I would recommend having a technician out to your home to properly diagnose and repair your appliance. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt
