My sony KDS60A2000 has a continuous problem of the picture coming on then after about 5 min the screen goes black with the sound intact, then comes back on, this cycle is constant... sony says I have a power problem and that since it is not solved by unplugging and reseting I need an in home service...the TV is out of warranty, I wonder if this connected to the optical block problem since I also have a blue tinting and color problem? I want to know more before I have the service man in next week.... Is this TV a lemon?

REPLACE THE LAMP THE ON/OFF CYCLE IS MOST LIKELY THE LAMP. FOR THE BLUE I SUGGEST CHECKING ALL THE CONNECTIONS FOR VIDEO YOU HAVE HOOKED UP IN THE BACK. OTHERWISE THAT MODEL HAD PROBLEMS WITH YELLOW/GREEN VIDEO DISTORTIONS REGARDING THE OPTICAL ENGINE NOT REALLY ANY BLUE.

I turn my tv on the picture and sound all work and after about 20min the picture goes to a black screen and I still have my sound. I turned the tv off wait about 5 min turn it back on the picture come on...

If you have electronics experience - check the power supply and make sure you are getting the correct voltage to your inverter boards and main av board - also do you see any movement on the screen take a flashlight and shine on the screen - if you can see a dark image on the screen check inverter boards and power first.

TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Sony kv35s66: No picture, just sound and red blinking

This should be a quick fix. Try resoldering the vertical IC. This is a small flat IC attached to a heat sink with about 11 pins. It should be marked LA7837 or something similar. That should resolve the problem.

Keep us posted.

Screen goes black

here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board.
