I just purchased a Sony BDV E770W home theatre system and there are 2 problems that I need help solving. I have a 30GB iPod Classic which I am trying to play through my home theatre system, but when I connect the iPod to the system using an Apple USB cable an error message reads: This iPod is not compatible with this system. Any reasoning to why I would be having this issue?
My second problem is that our TV does not have either an HDMI or Digital Optical out jack on our TV, so as a result the Sony theatre is not supplying volume to our TV. We are using component cables at the moment on our Mitsubishi High Def. TV. Would you know if there is any other way i can connect my theatre to my TV so I would be able to get sound coming through the television?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Hey there - did you ever get a solution to this problem? I'm having the exact same problem with my iPod Classic (60gb). I've tried using Sony's online tech support, but to no avail.
Well, here's an update - I just got online again with Sony Tech support, and currently they only support iPod Classics with 80 GB, 120 GB, or 160 GB. So, that's why yours (and mine) don't work.Well, here's an update - I just got online again with Sony Tech support, and currently they only support iPod Classics with 80 GB, 120 GB, or 160 GB. Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable .
Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv
Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ????
The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ?

I also have the same problem but now I think it's the type of I-Pod you use. Do you use the I-Pod 80 Gb video or the newer 160 Gb I-Pod with the cover flow etc. ? The documention of the HTD7001 says it's only support some I-Pods. I would know sure if I would have a type of Video I Pod wich is supported by the documentation
