We have an MX 900 universal remote and got a new TV. We don't have the editor software downloaded and can't find it at www.universalremote.com. Anyone know how we can make the remote work with our new TV?

If you want a Universal Remote for your player, my best advice is that star by downloading all the manuals you find till you get one where your device is listed, so you may get the code

The obvious question here is: are the batteries installed the correct way? Here is a web page to download the operator manual:

Also; are your batteries good? are they making good contact? Has the remote been damaged by leaking batteries? Inspect and test.

Do you have the original remote controls for the devices you are trying to control? If so... do they work? Remember... they will need batteries too!

Are there manual switches on the device you want to control? Do they work? Can you turn it on and off?

Most remote makers provide information and codes for programming their devices on their websites. check there for the instructions.

The MX-500 has a learning mode that you can use. Press MAIN and ENT together for 3 seconds, then press the P-PRO button. Select the device then button you wish to program on your remote and then with both remotes facing each other (IR ports must be able to communicate) press the button on your other remote.

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.

This is the previous model owners manual but it works. You'll want to program using the "learn" mode where you point the remotes at each other.
