You need to install your sound driver. Ig you fo to this HP website below there you will be able to find and download your sound driver and audio manger too.
Look for the screw marked with a keyboard icon and removed them then you should be able to remove and replace the keyboard. Not too hard. You can get the service manual from HP if needed.
A code 10 is usually indicative of a device that is not recognized by the computer, this could mean that is has failed, has become dislodged from its connector or the drivers are no longer valid or have failed to the point where they do not point the system to the device. Try downloading new drivers for the device. If that fails, try to remove the keyboard and replace with same or newer and check all connections. Below is the link to the service manual.
when you changed it to do nothing on battery or power did you save these settings........I know it is a silly question but it sounds like the laptop is going into Hibernate mode
