I HAVE A TOSHIBA 37AV502U, THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THAT THE COLOR ON THE PICTURE IS WRONG, IT'S A BIT HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THE PICTURE WAS TYE-DYED OR SOMETHING, YOU CAN SEE THE CABLE PICTURE JUST FINE UNDERNEATH, BUT ITS JUST A BUNCH OF BRIGHT 70'S STYLE NIGHTMARE COLORS RADIATING ALL OVER., KINDA LIKE THE COLORS AREN'T OVERLAPPING RIGHT TO GIVE A RIGHT PICTURE.. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW BEFORE I BUY ANYTHING IF ANYONE THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE T-CON BOARD OR IT'S A MAIN BOARD PROBLEM... THIS WOULD BE THE THIRD MAIN BOARD I'VE TRIED IN THIS TV, THE ORIGINAL RESULTED IN A TV THAT WOULDN'T TURN ON, THE SECOND, SOUND BUT NO PICTURE, AND NOW THE THIRD IS THIS, AND THE BOARD I GOT LAST WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN TESTED BEFORE IT SHIPPED, SO I AM JUST GUESSING THAT THE T-CON BOARD IS BAD... SO ANY THOUGHTS?...

IF THE MENU LOOKS CORRECT THEN IT WILL BE A MAIN BOARD FAILURE IF THE MENU LOOKS GOOD THEN IT COULD BE T-CON BOARD FAILURE. CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS BEFORE AND AFTER THE PARTS ARE REPLACED.

    o im sorry i wrote it incorrectly. if the menu looks correct then its main board if the menu doesnt look correct then it may be the t-conboard.

This is a rear projection set with 3 picture tubes. If picture has color or looks 3 d it is a convergence problem. If not try to describe it a bit better so I may help.

I have a toshiba TV, model 52HM95. The picture is flickering and vibrant colors, especially red, look odd. It's hard to describe, but it looks similar to an infrared image.
depends what source you use. if it is a hdtv source you might have defect cables or worse/wrong connection. if you use the built in tuner for tv channels might antenna signal has problem or even connector too. check different video (picture) sources like the antenna in, video in, y/c (chroma) in etc to clarify it is not the tv itself. if this can be excluded then the tv has a problem, please let it then check by your local service.

Verticle blue line
Solid color vertical line? If it is, then the LCD panel is bad. It will get worst with more lines.

im just going to assume you have it hooked up wrong, call a TV person and they can come look at it, its really hard to do this kind of thing over the internet

Toshiba theaterview 50in rear projection tv
Look at it on the QVC channel where you have boxes with straight lines. If any of the 3 colors are bowed and 1 inch off, then it needs parts inside. If the colors are straight and only 1/4 inch off, you can adjust it. Using the remote, in the menus find convergence to adjust. Your user manual will explain it.
