This model has two versions, one with the GPS as an external piece, and one with the GPS mounted internally. If the location of the internal mounted GPS cannot get a clear shot at the satellites overhead, it will tell you it cannot get a GPS fix. If it says it is disconnected, you may have a problem with the internal GPS. There are external GPS pucks available for this unit. Here is a helpful website.
I have looked into this for you. There could be several things that can cause this, recent updates needed, Battery, etc.... So, instead of guess work, What I am doing is giving you (In case you don't have it) the owners complete manual with trouble shooting etc.... And some other links for support and numbers etc.... I hope this helps, but like i said there are several things that could cause this. My guess is battery possible and or updates. Please check out the manual and links I have posted. Thanks So Much Mike, Please if you can rate accordingly for my free help. Also I am putting my link at bottom for my personal Page of services I offer. Thanks Again, Mike
You can take a picture of the transom of your boat and email it to Humminbird and they will email it back to you where the transducer should be mounted at. Our email address is [email protected].
Hi Greg and Ernesto:
Re-stating the obvious, your transducer is not working but you know that the sounder is.
I would start by checking to see if your transducer works on a different sounder. That's just a double check to confirm that it really is not working.
Then I'd try to isolate the problem:
- Plug (couold be corroded or damaged)
- wire (could be broken)
- Transducer (could be defective)
Since these are sealed units, I'd be checking with the supplier to try to find a replacement. Hopefully they are not too expensive, and time spent fishing is better than trying to maybe save a few dollars, especially if you're taking out charters.
Best of luck.
Hi! Please go into the menu and select the 'Nav' tab then choose the 'Chart Orientation' setting and set to 'North - Up', also make sure 'North Reference' is set to 'True'. If that doesn't work, reset the sounder back to factory defaults and try again. Here's the manual to you sounder: 947C Manual
Wiring should be very straightforward, the connector on the left (looking at the back of the sounder) is the plug for the transducer, the 2 pin plug in the middle is for the power (notch in the plug cord points UP), and the 4 pin connector is for the optional speed and/or temperature sensor. Here is an install manual for your reference: http://www.humminbird.com/PDF/Piranha1_2_IN.pdf
Hi! here's a user manual/installation manual for your sounder: NS25 If the depth sounder portion works, I would suspect the settings are off (check first) or the gps circuit needs repair. Best of luck! Mike
