hi there, you have a problem to your monitor, you don't have a signal going to the monitor, means that you have a problem at the video section. it also a horizontal problem. try to check each section and troubleshoot. ty

Dual monitor? Power save mode? Vista?
Go to display settings. Click on the checkered monitor. Hit the check box for extend the desktop onto this monitor.

i would refer to your users manual to see if there is a power save mode setting on the monitor it'self and to see how to adjust it or contact the manufacture of the monitor . ok ?

These are just suggestions, not sure if it will fix your problem (not listed in any order but only do one at a time)
1. Change BIOS battery (reset BIOS)
2. Clean out machine (dust, reseat cables, cords etc...)
3. Try removing the power cord from the monitor, hold the power on button for ten seconds then put the power cord back on
4. Try reseating the video card.

That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.
