Screen is displaying a dark, blurred image which is almost unable to be seen. I have tried adjusting the display settings without it helping at all. I have turned it on and off, let it sit over night, etc. It does this regardless of the cable or DVD player being used. Sound is still fine.

Hi, Did you try unplugging it from the wall for 10min. It may help to reset things. If not you have a display issue bad capacitors on the video board. You should take it to a TV repair.

SOURCE: Dim Display

There may not be enough power running to the display. What are you using for a power source? My suggestion is to wire your power to your ACC if you have not already. The other thing I can think of is the connection is bad. Make sure the terminals used to connect your stereo are all tight also.

When I press the OSD reset button to get the screen to optimize the display, the displayed image moves 3 inches to the right (so I get 3 inches of black screen on the left) and the display looks washed...

Hi Mdamon,

Please follow the below steps to solve your problem :-

Your LCD panel has the settings button which you need to use to adjust your LCD screen to the center and make sure there is no black strip remaining after appropriate settings,

To make things easy for you , click on the below to download the manual directly so that you have a complete idea of the steps that are supposed to be taken for the screen adjustment.

There are many factory settings of different settings that are preset and can be activated using the panel.

Tip :- Try changing the screen resolution via the display properties from your desktop as an incorrect resolution could result in bad images or blurred images.

Displayed image is dark.

There should be a setting under the setup screen that should adjust conrtast and brightness.

If that doesn't help than that means that the light behind the lcd display of the unit has burnt out.

If you can't deal with it then it will be cheaper to just purchase a new unit than attempting to get in there to fix it. Also try to get it covered under warrenty if it is that problem

1440 x 900 setting for monitor means I can't see my whole desktop on my toshiba laptop...

Not all laptops display adapters will allow the individual settings for a screen and a monitor to take effect correctly.
This happens especially when one is a widescreen and the other is a standard screen.
It seems your settings are taking effect on both screens at once instead of on each screen individually.
I assume you have adjusted te display sizes in your display settings ?
If so, did you adjust each display separately ?
You may also have to see if your display adapter has the most correct drivers. That may help.

Pictures appear to be darker than original in print outs.

You can make several adjustments to improve your images such as lightening dark areas, changing the exposure, sharpening blurred edges, and changing the brightness and contrast.
  • Exposure adjusts the overall intensity of light in an image.
  • Adaptive Lighting improves only the dark areas in an image without affecting the bright areas.
  • Brightness adjusts the amount of light in colors ranging from light to dark.
  • Contrast adjusts the difference in brightness between light and dark areas of an image.
  • Sharpness helps define edges and the smoothness of texture in an image. Use this tool to make a blurred image appear more focused.
Adjusting the image Follow the steps below to make adjustments:
  1. Click the View tab and select the image you want to edit by either clicking the image, or by clicking the small box at the bottom left corner of the image. Figure 1: Select the image c00603524.gif
  2. Click the Edit tab and then click the Advanced tab.
  3. On the Advanced tools tab, click Adjust Image .
  4. Select an adjustment from the list on the left. Figure 2: Adjusting the brightness c00603525.gif
    • The Exposure adjustment is automatically applied when the Adjust Image tool opens. Eight variations of the image are displayed on the left. The current image is displayed in the center. Each image represents a different level of adjustment. When you move the pointer over any of the images on the left, a large version of the image is displayed. Use Preferences to turn this large image preview on or off and to set the timing for the display.
    • If you want to use a different adjustment tool, select Adaptive Lighting , Brightness , Contrast , or Sharpness from the list.
  5. Select one of the images on the left.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • Click Accept to accept all changes and exit from the Color Toolkit.
    • Click Cancel to discard all changes and exit from the Color Toolkit.
  7. If you have finished modifying the image, do one of the following to save your changes:
    • Click Save to overwrite the original image.
    • Click Save As to save the modified image with a different name.

Display light is dark

I have seen this problem before this is caused by a failure of the backlight which provides illumination for the LCD screen. You may also want to check the inverter also since it fails often and interacts with the backlight.

Dark image

Flyback transformers usually have 2 adjustable rods - 1 is for focus the other is for screen (G2) voltage. try turning Clockwise the Screen adjust with brightness-contrast at max. Till you see white diagonal lines, then go back until the lines disappear - then tune the brightness to your desired level.
