Unfortunately, blades for this model were discontinued several years ago by the manufacturer and are now impossible to find now.
Batteries can be purchased from shaveroutlet.com. You will need two. See link below
Model ES-1000 has been discontinued for a few years now. The replacement heads were also discontinued.
Unfortunately, Remington did not make a similar model to replacethe ES-1000.
The flat, slot style type head is what made the ES-1000 very popular with many users. Unfortunately, there are no manufacturers who make a flat, slot head shaver at this time.
To open up the shaver, gently pry off the rubberized grip on the front with a small flat screwdriver or similar. This will reveal 2 screws at the bottom. Remove the screws and the flat plate under the cutters that clips on there. You can then gently pry apart the two halves.
You can then access the batteries, remove the old ones and solder the new ones in place
Remington replaced the ES-1000 with the HGX-1. However, the HGX-1 really is not the same design at all. There is no real replacement for the flat head style shaver. No one currently manufacturs a flat head style shaver like the ES-1000
Give the folks at electricshaver.com a try. I tried to look up the replacement batteries for your shaver, but didn't find your model number listed on their site.
However, you can give them a call and see if they have them available, as many shavers use similar batteries, you just have to know the cross-reference list to figure it out. There phone number is 1-888-476-1785.
Normally I can provide the replacement part numbers for electric shavers and provide a link to the parts list for them/
The Remington ES-1000 was probably the best slot-head shaver ever made by Remington. I cannot believe that the market demand was so low as to prompt a cancellation of production. I believe that the production run was limited to about 4 years or so. I have 8 of these shavers and keep a couple old Remington slot heads around as well. The ES-1000 was not perfect. The batteries were way too small and stressed so battery life was poor. You could not buy individual blades as you could with past Remington slot-head units. Also, the edge of the head was too exposed and sharp and when used for body shaving would tend to cut the skin.Slot-head shavers are superior for body shaving and for skin that is suseptible to shaving bumps. They are also great for young men that are prone to ingrown hairs. My guess is that the Norelco 3 head has taken it's place. Those shavers actually use 3 small slot heads. Rumor has it that shavers.com is trying to have a new slot head manufactured in Asia.
