These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.

MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!

THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.

JUST A SUGGESTION..
1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)
2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)

the problem is the cooling fans they probley need to be cleaned there are two of them i have a 60v710 hitachi too

5 times red standby light blinking shows problem with ballast supply board in Sony KDF-E50A10 model tv, ballast supply board provides high voltage to lamp to produce high bright light.
Please check/ replace ballast supply board in tv by local tv repairman.

Are you sure its two red lights blinking and not the one red light blinking and you can see it through the other window to look like two red lights? If so sounds like your lamp is blown. Open the back door and unscrew the lamp (2 phillips screws) and check to see if your lamp is blown.

We end up hitting the side of the tv. Literally hitting the side of the tv box.

My TV did the same thing today. My red light blinks 6 times. Any help would be much appreciated!
