How can i close my facebook account?

If you're looking to permanently delete your account use this link

https://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account

click submit and follow the prompts. If I understand it correctly though the account is only deactivated/disabled so any activity from logging into facebook to clicking a "like" button on another site will lift the "ban" and reactivate the account. You have to be completely facebook void for at least 2 full weeks for the account to be truly deleted. If you accidentally log back in, click a like button or even follow a random email link and it reactivates you just start the process all over again. After the 2 weeks if you want a "sanity check" you can email facebook and ask to confirm your account was deleted.

Ive been trying to delete my facebook account and im really having a hard time with it pleaseeee help me to take care of this

There's not really anyway to completely delete your facebook account immediately, but you can deactivate it which will remove all references to you from facebook, and I think after 90 days of being deactivated, it will delete your account.

To deactivate your account, go to your Account Settings from the account dropdown menu in the top right corner. At the bottom of the Account Settings page, you should see the link to deactivate your account.

I haave tried facebook and at age 65 it is not for me. I went online and defriended everyone but I want rid of facebook. how do i get face book gone completely on my computer

To delete your account, first login to face book then click this link and proceed with the deletion of your face book account. Be careful though, it first deactivates your account for two weeks, but if you log in to your account again within those two weeks, it will reactivate it.
Given you don't log back in for those two weeks, it will then permanently delete the account.
This is the link here: ***WARNING*** CLICKING THIS LINK WILL START THE PROCESS TO DELETE YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT - DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO REMOVE YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!

I want out of facebook all together

The best way is to erase your account. Do not log into it for "two weeks" and it deletes at Facebook.com's time frame.

Want to close my account how do i do it?

Follow these steps ;
1. The first step that you have to do is deactivate your account and once that is completed you will be able to permanently delete your information.

Log into your Facebook account using your username and password of the account you would like to close. This should take you to the homepage of your account. If you are not on the homepage, click Home in the navigational bar.
2.Click the settings link in your Facebook navigation bar. Once you are in your settings you will need to delete all of your email addresses except one. This is a very important step because you can only have one email address to permanently delete your account.
3. While you are in the Settings page find the the deactivation link and go through the deactivation process.
4. Go to this page:
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account

Click "Submit" and follow the instructions.

Your account will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you don't log in during that period, your account is permanently deleted.

I have a daughter who is a minor and I was informed that there are some inappropraite postings and pictures.my question is how can I check and also can I have her facebook account closed?

Unfortunately, facebook does not have a customer service (since it is a free service), so you cannot contact them to get the password. In order to check her postings and pictures, you must either be a friend of her on facebook (assuming that she makes that content available to friends), or, you must get her password directly from her to log on to her profile. If you decide to deactivate (close) her account, then you must be logged into her account. Once logged into her account, go to "account", and, under "Settings", make sure that there is only one email associated with the account (delete as necessary), then you will find Account Deactivate. Once you click deactivate, you will be required to give a reason (you can select from one of the multiple choice responses, or explain in the other box (I would also recommend checking "Opt out of receiving emails from Facebook."). Next, go to Facebook - Deletion Page, and click Submit, and follow instructions. Your account will be deleted if you don't log in for 2 weeks, so it is critical that you do not let her log in during that time period.
Note: Even though you have closed the account, it is still possible to create another with the same email address. Also, if you want to make sure that your daughter does not log on during the two weeks, I would recommend changing the password and changing the associated email to your own, so that she cannot try to recover, and/or reset the password in order to log on.

My husband and I play farmville. when I change to use the notebook computer I can't log on to facebook it doesn't reconize my password I have changed it several times this is a pain. Why can't I use both...

Facebook only allows but one machine to be logged into your account at once. What appears to be happening is that you are not logging out the other machine completely. Closing the browser will not log out the account. Try logging out of Facebook on the other machine completely and then try logging in with the other machine.

How do i delete my facebook

Go here:
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account

Click "Submit" and follow the instructions.

Youraccount will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you DO NOT LOG INduring that period, your account is permanently deleted. I REPEAT:don't panic if your profile isn't deleted right away! You must NOT tryto log in to your account for at least two weeks, as it will cancel thedeletion request. If you want out - stay out, mmmkay? ;)

Thismethod is official and should be complete, i.e. no need to deleteindividual photos, comments, messages or items from your profile oranywhere else on Facebook! If you have any concerns whether your stuffis actually deleted (as opposed to being kept somewhere in the deepdungeons of Facbook's HQ) your best bet is to ask them using email:[email protected].
