Tv Tuners I just bought a Samsung 32" LCD tv, specificallly the LN32A330. I was looker over the specs again and noticed that Samsungs wedsite says that it only has a NTSC type tuner. Does this mean my tv needs a set top box for digital cabel? and can i get over the air HD broadcasts???

Hey jp62388,

According to information provided by the manufacturer, this model TV should have a built-in NTSC/ATSC and QAM tuner. These should allow you to receive locally broadcast digital TV signals without the use of a set-top box or digital converter box.

If you're concerned about your TV's specifications, the most important thing you'll need to look for is a built-in or integrated ATSC tuner. NTSC is the old analog standard that is to be phased out in early 2009, while ATSC is the new digital standard that is to be used within the United States and Canada as NTSC’s replacement.

Should you have any other questions or concerns, I'd strongly suggest checking out the FAQ section of the federal government’s official DTV transition website:

http://www.dtv.gov/index.html

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Samsung LN32A330J1D - LCD TV - only 2 years old and power button is broken

Capacitors, capacitors and capacitors. I can't stress that enough. Common issue with these samsungs. Check those capacitors before changing any board.

If there is a bad capacitor in the power supply, you will either get one of two symptons.

1 - Solid red Led and thats it. You hit the power button and nothing will respond.

2 - You just hear a click repeatedly.

Will my samsung lcd tv work in thailand, bought in england

The problem you will encounter is that the plugs are different, you will need a converter to allow brit plugs go into Asian plugs which are straight flat pins

Other problem is they dont have english programs and you may need special squint glasses to watch
