My tv does not turn on. When power button is pushed it goes from red standby light to green power light but nothing happens and then it repeats this a couple times on its own. Then stops and all three lights blink and thats the way it stays. No picture no sound.

Hard to troubleshoot with just this info, the red light can be helpful if its 10 blinks repeating over and over replace the power supply first then the A board. Voltages check on the power supply would narrow down the culprit. Post again if you measure the power supply voltages
The blinks are fault indication. If the standby light blinks 10 times and the set shuts down after that; Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board
While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
Turn ON the PLAYSTATION 3 and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).
hi.. It's in standby mode. Do a reset and see what happens While holding down the reset button on the remote Press the power button on the tv (The tv will turn itself off the back on) Now release the reset button
It sounds like the lamp needs replaced....
Find and replace the following caps, Ec18, 19, 20 / 1000uf/16v, Ec9, 10 / 1000uf/35v, Ec14, 25 / 470uf/35v should resolve the problem. You can get the caps at almost any electronics supply.
This is a common problem in this unit.
Good Luck!
Happy Thanksgiving!

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply. I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]
