Everytime we try to print something, the printer beeps twice and say, "Change tray 1 to plain paper letter". We press the down arrow twice and the selection is, "use current tray 1". We then press the check button and the print job then prints. If we print something else immediately, it will print. If we wait say 30 seconds or more to print, the error messages start all over again.
On left side of tray are 3 fingers, for letter size paper bottom 2 are out, next one in. verify slider on bottom of tray is in place. Essentially paper not sensed correctly. print config page and see paper size

Also having the same problem. I'm using a special paper size (8.5 X 8.5) and I just want it to always print, forget about that particular error.
No matter what combination of settings we use on both the printer setup and the printer software, certain computers will always trigger the Lexmark C780 to ask for the paper to be changed to Plain (even though everything's already set to "plain paper in there!)
Pressing "continue" doesn't do anything - it just asks again infinitely. The only way out is to manuallly select "use current Tray 1" on every single print job!
Very frustrating indeed.
