Dell Axim X50v won't turn on after 6 months of no use

Hi there

I haven't used my X50v for about 6 months and it won't turn on. I've been charging it for about 30 minutes now - the charge light is orange, but when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. I've tried a soft reset and that doesn't do anything either

Please help

Thanks!

Mine always worked fine until I left it on and it went to sleep. Now it will not turn on with fully charged battery or AC. When connected to computer via ActiveSync, will not accept input from touchscreen. When reset button is pushed, will not accept input from buttons to clear memory or cancel operations. It appears that all input methods died!

    no dice

x50v was working for 2 weeks

3 fully charged batteries - so I highly doubt that I have 3 dead batteries (as one of these is even brand new)

I have the orange charging light come on and even the green fully charged light comes on...but thats it

tried to do both a soft and hard reset - with no results

    Does anyone have any advice???

Perform a hard reset.

1. Hold the reset button on the back.
2. Hold the Power button down.
3. Release the reset button.
4. Release the Power button.
5. Press the Contacts button when prompted.

Hope this helps!

Don't forget to backup before performing a hard reset. Also, don't forget to check the lock button on the left side. Shamefully, that was my problem! I didn't even know the lock button was there, let alone that my purse demon locked it.

Later post Ken Akiyama had the correct solution. The hard reset did the trick.
But, you will loose your data and programs. Pays to backup.

I have a Dell Axim x50v running with original ppc2003. Then I upgraded it to Windows mobile 2005, and used for couple of months then it crashed! Now the issue is both soft & hard reset stop loading at 80%,...

Same problem. Soft and hard reset can't even stard any advice screen. When the problem started, it was frozen at the dell round simbol, that i just could turn it off by removing battery. Now, its even worse, the screen is off, even after pressing the two and tree buttons at the same time, it doesn't hard reset. What else should i do?

Dell AXIM x50v won't start.

Note: The following is a quote of someone else: I had the same prob. Went to dell site and found this. Take out battery. Put the cover back on. Attach to cradle and turn on. While it is on, do a soft reset. Turn off, take it out of the cradle and put battery back on. Try turning on with battery only.

Know it worked for me except for the last part. when i replace the battery it won't run on...again. tell me what happens with you ^_^
