I tried to use the Symantec uninstalling tool to remove Antivirus 2005. Tool indicates that it cannot continue because WinFax Pro is installed, and cannot continue. I tried uninstalling WinFax Pro through Windows but that failed. I then tried to manually uninstall it, using Symantec's procedure. That has also failed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just use the Windows add/remove panel to uninstall,it is a common case,if it doesn't work,I suggest you to choose the Best Uninstall Tool.It is extremely easy, all detailed information is listed on the user interface, just one mouse click on the "Uninstall" button.
For the next 12 or so hours, you can download for free the solution to this problem which is Cleanse Uninstaller Pro. I tried being near everything including going online for an hour or so with the geniuses at Symantec in India but this was the only thing that worked. You can download this
for free today . Otherwise you end up paying $19, which in my opinion is well worth it. One suggestion, once installed you have to keep hacking away at every bit of Symantec you find on your computer. My suggestion would be remove everything and then reinstall whatever you truly want that way you get rid of all the little bits and pieces which seem to hide in the registry and other places. Good luck I can only say that I'm extremely grateful to this program and the people who created it.
Try using ccleaner, which can be downloaded for free from ccleaner.com. it has a tools section where you can remove programs. it can also fix registry issues, which i think you may have with this Norton.

I cannot attach to my symantec winfax pro so I want to delete and reinstall. When I tried to remove the program it says it cannot find the location of the program. I tried to download a program to uninstall but it said I had to remove winfax first. I need help. Dale Dupuy
I have been trying without success to get rid of WinFax Pro. I have even gone to the trouble to reinstall both the 1998 version of the updated version just to get the uninstall files. I attempted to contact Symantec online help but was disconnected. Unfortunately the online help is generated overseas and seem to be having connection issues. I have tried a variety of other methods to get rid of these products which are more tenacious than crabgrass however nothing seems to work. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.
