The DEC gears are slipping and not engaging. You must disassemble the fork arm to fix this-- not very easy to do.

Meade will repair this if you return the scope to them. Here is their service phone line:

Auto washing machine drum vibrates makes loud noise

When machine is empty use fingers to try and move drum side to side. Is there excessive movement? 2 to 3 mm is ok. If drum moves to much it will be the drum bearings. Easy fix for an engineer or competent diyer. Millions of how to videos on utube.

How can i tell if my hub bearing is going bad

Jack up offending wheel. Grasp tyre at 12 and 6 and try to rock the wheel in and out if there is more than 1/16" inch rocking movement, the wheel bearing is loose or worn.

Further check would be to rotate the wheel and listen for bearing noise.

I drove through 12-15 inches of water and now my drive train is making clicking and clacking noises when I let off of the gas driving 20-40 miles per hour, before this it made metal squeals my neighbor...

It sounds like you need to replace some U joints. When U joints start making noise it is too late for grease to fix the problem, the damage is already done. To be sure get under the truck and move the driveshaft at each joint. Try to move it up and down and from side to side. If there is any movement in the driveshaft and none in the yoke, the joint is bad. You should also try turning it to check for movement. Do this with each joint because it is quite possible that move than one joint is bad.
Don't put off fixing this because you run a real danger of having one of those U joints failing and the driveshaft falling. When you order new ones make sure they come with grease fittings. Once a month 10 minutes with a grease gun will save you a lot of money and extra work over the life of the truck. Hope this helps.

Meade DS-2114S, can not get the vertical, up/down movement to work when using the autostar mode, can hear the motor drive working but no movement, the left / right moves fine, and the up / down moves fine...

The knob on the fork arm is tightened? Correct. You can slew manually, but cannot do a two star alignment?

Is all of this correct? Post a reply with additional information.

You have trained the drives -- correct?

Meade/auto star problem

You never said what model. The CD ROM only contains free planetarium software which you can also down load on Meade's web site here:

www.meade.com look under the Customer Service link.

Motor Faults are usually caused by low power and or a broken part.

If you have CALIBRATE MOTORS feature in the hand controller do this first. If it still does not work, RESET the hand controller, reenter date, time, and SITE, and calibrate motors again.

If this does not work something is broken inside the scope.

Hi. I have a saniflow macerator,it's servicing just the toilet. I installed it about 9 months ago. I have had no problems untill this morning. It is making a clunking noise, the pump is working as normal,...

Hi Neil,
The pump is activated by a pressure switch inside the unit and would not normally make any noise, so probably can rule that one out!

From the manual on the saniflo it would suggest either a foreign object in the unit, a defective motor or control unit. It may be that you are unlucky and have a loose macerator blade that needs to be tightened (and loctite applied).

I would double check that the clunking is definitely coming from inside the unit and not a pipe or something else moving (the water pushing the 90 degree rubber discharge tends to move and can create movement around it). When you are sure, it will be the not so nice job of opening up the unit:

FIRST .. RUN THROUGH CLEAN WATER (will make sense later!)

- *** DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY ***
- Empty the Cistern, bowl and disconnect the inlet pipes to the WC
- remove the WC and cistern
- being very careful, disconnect the outlet (some have non return valves, some don't, so you may get some sludge coming back down the pipe). Hopefully none if you pushed enough clean water through initially

get unit out and wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from getting germs in cuts etc. Normally need a star driver and flat blade screwdriver

If it is the macerator blade it should be clear that it is loose and could be tightened up. It could be play in the motor which unfortunately would mean a new unit - to test, gently pull up on macerator blade and feel for movement vertically.

also check for any foreign objects etc.

While it is out you may as well clean it out - I normally do this outside by putting warm bleached water into the unit for around 30mins, swishing it about and then emptying down a drain (cover up the mains cables in a plastic food bag first!). I also sometimes use a hose pipe to really get into all of the nooks.

Good luck with the fix, if this helps pls leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more

Cheers
