I have a Hoover 750LB top load washing machine. Quite often spin function does not work. Occassionally spin will work OK. Other functions are OK. What could be the problem?

Our hoover ultra care 1300 large load washing machine spin fault

The most common cause of machines stopping mid cycle is not draining. Your machine should have a filter behind the kick plate at the bottom.
If this is not the case please post back for further assistance.

In the rinse cycle the motor stops

You quite possibly just have a broken drive belt. This will allow most functions to work but it won't spin the tub.

Machine not reaching full spin speed.

The load might be unbalanced, and will not spin at full speed as it could damage the machine. Try reloading the machine.
