Washer ligths up, the door lock clicks on and a few seconds later it shuts off. had message nf. sometimes it will do half the cycle but stops before the fabric softner cycle.
If I remember correctly, nf is a no fill and the machine is not detecting water coming in when it should. Have you checked your water lines coming in? Are they both turned all of the way on? Have you taken off the hoses where they screw on to the washer and made sure the screens underneath are free of sediment and deposits? If not, you may need to check the resistance on your flow meter or pressure switch. If I remember correctly, nf is a no fill and the machine is not detecting water coming in when it should. Error codes appear when there are problems with the door, the inflow and drainage of water and the motor.
Do Your Maytag Neptune washer displays the "do" help code when the washing machine is trying to start a cycle, but the door is open or not locked properly. If this message is displayed, close the door securely and restart the washing cycle.
FL The "FL" code indicates that the washing machine was unable to lock the door after you closed it. Open and close the door tightly, then restart the washing cycle.
Sd The "Sd" code indicates that you have added too much detergent to the washing machine and your laundry has too many suds. The machine will stop displaying this code if it has successfully run the suds recovery cycle, which removes the excess suds from the wash load. If the code remains, reduce the amount of detergent in the load. Use less detergent for similar loads of laundry in the future.
PF The "PF" code indicates that a power failure has occurred. Restart the wash cycle. If the code still appears, check that the washing machine is still plugged in to the electrical outlet.
Nd The "nd" code indicates that your Maytag Neptune is not draining as it should. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked and that the stand pipe isn't clogged. If you find either of these problems, fix them before restarting the washing cycle.
LO The "LO" code appears when the washing machine has finished the selected wash cycle, but cannot unlock the door. Verify that the door is closed properly, push the "Off" button, and wait two minutes. The door should unlock and the error code will disappear. If the error code remains, unplug the washing machine, wait two minutes and plug it back into the electrical outlet.
Lr The "Lr" code indicates that the washing machine's motor is not running as it should. Have your Maytag Neptune washing machine serviced by a certified Maytag repair professional. Maytag Neptune Priority One Service: (888) 462-9824
NF The "nF" code appears when the washing machine has tried to fill with water and has failed. Verify that the inlet hoses aren't kinked and that the faucets are fully open.
Od The "od" code appears when you must open the washer door. The Maytag Neptune washer requires that you open the door between cycles.

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. Error NF
means No Fill. The washer has tried to fill but was unsuccessful. NF indicates
No Flow. There is something that is interrupting the inbound flow
of water to the washer, either hot or cold. Sometimes this happens
when water service in the area is interrupted, creating an air pocket that
causing the water valve not to sense water. Try running the diagnostic test by—
Press
the delicates and heavy soil keys together for 3 seconds.
You
are in the service mode.
Now,
press wrinkle free key, cold water should start entering.
Then,
press the cotton sturdy and hot water should flow.
To
exit the test mode, either unplug the machine or press the delicate and
heavy soil again for 3 seconds.
Please do rate the solution if the
issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
There is a door locking unit that should lock when you press go. This must have failed. It lives just under the lid in the middle at the front. It is thermal piston, when you press go it gets power and extends. When it hits a micro switch that tels the washer the door is shut and allows it to continue, else it shuts down. To get at it you have to take the front off, leave the door on.
Q - My washer seems to keep filling with water, the water keeps coming in the washer and going out the drain without the washermotor running. A - This often is a drain hose that is too low or a drain hose that has been pushed too far down inside the stand pipe....the water is actually siphoning out of the washer. Do not "seal" the drain hose to the house plumbing pipe, this will also allow the water to be siphoned out.
re original issue, see if R11 is burned. if so, need to change R11 resistor and associated triac, and probably wax motor so it won't do it again. temporary fix just cut out R11, door won't lock. if your model won't spin that way, depress actuator for microswitch from door wax motor. instructions on web.
