How do you clean the trough in the middle?

Hello- You can put the filter in the dishwasher. The trough can be difficult to clean, I would use something that's not too sudsy, like Citra Solv or any degreaser. Just use a sponge or rag. If there is a lot of build-up you can scrape-up the grease with a plastic putty knife. Once it is clean just turn the vent on to dry it so any water left over will not cause the pan to rust. Hope this helps, best regards.

Oven cleaning

Easy-Off. It is incredibly vile. It smells horrible - you can pretty much feel the brain cells dying - and if you get any on your skin you can get a chemical burn. But oh, does it ever work. Lay down newspaper everywhere, including the drawer underneath the oven if you have one, preheat your oven to the temperature it says on the can, spray on Easy-Off (WEAR RUBBER GLOVES. LONG ONES. I'M SERIOUS. And check that you're pointing the nozzle in the right direction.), let it sit twenty minutes, then scrub it off with a wet cloth. Years of grease stains will wipe right off, it's quite amazing. Have the fan on full-blast and all windows open, take frequent fresh-air breaks, do not breathe in while you're scrubbing because it's really gross. Scrub the door first and then work your way from the bottom up so you don't end up with soapy easy-off dripping down on to you. If you happen to get any on your skin, rinse it off with cool water immediately.

Vent Cleaning Problem

Hello.
Down drafts are one of the biggest pains in the neck to work on, because one has to get underneath the cook top, and remove the duct, then the blower motor, and then the cover that is over the part that goes up and down. That is if the contractor who put it in didn't build shelves around it or put a bunch of drawers in front of it. So there you have it. It is not easy to clean it. You have to be prepared to disassemble it and try and put it back together properly. One time a customer paid me to have me completely dissassemble the inside of her refrigerator because some bad fish had leaked into everything and she wanted to clean it. You could always do that.

Please cut the nonsence and get a brouchure to me, for  JENN-AIR cooktop CCE3401. MY ADDRESS IS 2049 CORLEONE DR., SPARKS, NV 89434. I AM 73 YRS. OLD AND I do not have the time or the patience to chase  Jen-Air around all over the internet! Everytime someone says it is on the internet, then go to Customer Care, then manuals, it is never there, and never that easy! Please. We are in a new house and the performance of the Jen-Air CCE3401W has not been that convincing...

No Ignition

Dirt. Spilled oil, grease, milk etc. act as isolator and prevent contact between burner and casing (mass). You need to clean up burners, scrub all the dirt and make sure their seats are cleaned too (brass elements below burners).
