My washing machine works fine right up until it gets to the spin cycle and at this point it smells like burnt rubber. So, I assumed that it was the belt, but I can't find a belt on this model. So, what do you think the problem could be?

For sure change the belt. Clean the pulleys with a solvent to remove anything oily or like melted belt. The machine probably was overloaded. If it's a front loader, check the bearings.
Are you sure the burnt smell is coming from the washer and not from the dryer? If you've placed a rubber backed rug or other similar article of clothing, it is not uncommon for that rubber backing to melt and get embedded in the heated duct of the dryer . Not sure this helps but if you can clarify the point at which the burnt smell is first observed that would help..
Thanks
