Contact Fuji customer services for help, advice and possibly the drivers and/or cable that you need. The camera is, however, eleven years old, so they may not have what you require anymore. It takes an xD media card, but you may be able to get a USB card reader that can accommodate that.
Update your USB Drivers, you'll be able to accomplish that by visiting the Web Site of the manufacture of your computer. Search for drivers and downloads, when your on the site. Your looking for driver signiture "USB 2.0". It might download as a zip file, that case, download to desktop, unzip into a folder call cab,(it should tell you were it wants to unzip to) find Install.exe in that folder, and install USB drivers.
Usually Vista does not need driver to install an USB Mouse. Try this: Turn off the laptop, then put the mouse connection. Turn on again. See if now it is working. The mouse should be connected in "off" If still does not work, try put in other USB port of the laptop. Usually a laptop has at least 2 USB port. Remember to connect it always in "off".
