The problem could be
1. The connection between the base of the laptop to the LCD is lost / damaged
2. The LCD itself is not working
3. System is not completing its preliminary test (usually called POST)
Try the following steps:
Please check by connecting an external display (like a desktop monitor), if you get a display in that then there is a problem with the LCD or the connection.
Please check pressing the caps lock and number lock key, if the lights responds buy turning on and off as you press those keys, then the above situation is confirmed (if you do not have another monitor to test).
