You can also try reseting it (use a small safty pin or paperclip in the reset hole) or remove the back cover and carefully unhook the battery from it's balance connector, wait a few minutes and rehook it back up and try pressing the power button. I am using my cruz tablet to write thus right now. Good luck!

I don't know if this helps but this happened to me as well on the second day I owned it. After a day or two, it responded and has been working since. Other people recommend just letting the battery die down and then recharging it.

There usually is a reset pinhole where a straightened paper clip can be inserted to press an internal switch. this hole is usually on the edge. press and hold the switch for up to 10 seconds lightly. then the ereader should restart

My tablet acts like the screen is frozen, it does not respond to touching the screen therefore I an't unlock it
First try and hold the power button down until it switches off and then turn it back on and see if you can unlock it.
If you can't unlock it then you can do a recovery this is how
when it is switched off hold the volume up and the hold the power button until you see a recovery screen with options there you will see a option to recover.
