Monitor turning on and off

My computer monitor keeps turning on and off every second. I can not use it because it keeps going on and off. It may be a coinsedence, but this problem started right after we had a large thunder and lightening storm, though we did not lose power.

Try to get a second monitor that you know works and plug it into the computer. This will tell you if it is the monitor or the connection to the computer. If everything appears ok with the new monitor then you have to get a new one which is probably the case

Sorry for the news. Next time there is a big thunderstorm unplug everything and make sure that your computer is plugged into a surge protector at all times. This will save a lot of money and headaches

The monitor fades to black, a few seconds after I turn the pc on (even before starting windows); the blue button keeps on. When I turn it off, and then turn it on again, it works for a few seconds, then it...

Simplest solution first; check your cables. If the connections are good, but it still doesn't work, try your monitor with another computer. If it works, you need to update the drivers on your computer. If it doesn't, the problem is with the monitor. If your computer needs drivers from LG for the monitor, you need access to another computer (or another monitor to go online). Go to LG's website and look for SUPPORT. Download drivers for your monitor specific to your operating system (Windows, Mac OSX, etc.) and install.

My monitor keeps going to a black screen a coulpe of seconds after being turned on

Video (picture) must be constantly entering a monitor for a monitor to continue to display a picture after it self tests (goes on for a second or, two) Your monitor is fine; check it using another known good computer.

Monitor keep going into "sleep" mode

Check the power setting in control panel of windows. If you have a monitor from another computer swap them and see if the problem stays with the computer or monitor.
