i have the same problem, but not the same scope. the reason mine doesn't work is because a piece is loose on another piece. if you trust yourself enough to take it apart, it might be the same thing, but i haven't figured out mine yet either.i have the same problem, but not the same scope. the reason mine doesn't work is because a piece is loose on another piece. if you trust yourself enough to take it apart, it might be the same thing, but i haven't figured out mine yet either.

If your power steering wheel is no longer working; moving up and down, back and forth, and when you attempt ...
Calibrate motors and then TRAIN the drives-- this sets the gear backlash.
You should Calibrate motors every time you take it outside and Train drives at least once every year. The symptom you describe is called "rubberbanding".
The Azimuth clutch is slipping-- have you tightened the knob in the center of the base-- push the handle to the left. There is a tiny set screw on the side of the knob -- you can loosen it and remove the knob and position it further to the RIGHT on the bolt.
Shaky tripod is why you never buy this telescope brand.
Put the eyepice with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2xbarlow if you have one. Go outside duringg the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object.
Some finders show things upside down. There is no up or down in outer space.
During the daytime focus on an object like the top of a telephone pole a good distance away.
Without moving the telescope adjust the finder scope so that the "crosshairs" in the finder are centered on the same object as the main tube. Most astronomical telescopes show upside down and reversed images.
Open the gear motor on the left hand side of the telelscopic assembly. Take the plate off held by 4 philips screws. Using a 10mm socket, remove the bolt holding the platic gear. Remove plastic gear and insert the reverse way. Over the years, one side of the gears get worn out.
The upside down image is normal for astronomical telescopes. The finder usually is a fixed focus, but it can be altered for various eye types, by rotating the objective lens for focus - the cell should move in or out on fine threads.
i have the same problem, but not the same scope. the reason mine doesn't work is because a piece is loose on another piece. if you trust yourself enough to take it apart, it might be the same thing, but i haven't figured out mine yet either.
