I just got my kindle today for christmas and i was messing around with it and looking at everything i can do on it. and then i was going to go onto the store and look for some books and i saw that you can go on google and stuff so i was going to go on facebook and when i got on my kindle froze so i held the power button and it kinda turned off and it went to a blank screen so i tryed turning it on and i was trying to type in my pasword but thats not working. everytime i click on it it wont work, and im stuck and my parents are going to kill me!

Don't worry, you cannot fry your Kindle by navigating to any web page.

If you give the on / off switch a short nudge only, it normally goes in and out of stand-by mode. It can be switched on and off by sliding and holding the power switch for a few seconds. The power light behind the switch will blink three times to show you are doing it right. Note also, in order to work properly, the Kindle's battery needs to be charged.
