Hi saqa.
Welcome to FixYa.
My name is John, and I will be assisting you with your issue.
The four (4) blinks mean that you have no vertical Deflection, and
it goes into stand-by (safety mode) for protection. If you are not in
fear of high voltage because it can kill you! You can do this job yourself.
Let me know and I will post it here and the tools needed. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
Happy Holidays..........John

Take a close look at the red light blinking to see if it blinks in a sequence, for example 4 blinks, pause and repeats the sequence, that would be an error code.

My tv whe I turn it on will only stay on for 4 seconds and then turns off, and the stand by light is on and blinking.

Have you when set turns off and standby or power light flash to count here the blinks if in a sequence like seven blinks, pause etc? This se should have the error buffer.

Sony tv will not turn on stand by timer light blinking

Try as suggested to count the blinks to see if it is an error code or not. blinks will be in a sequence with a pause and blink the same number of times over and over.

Our 32xbr450 will not turn on the stand by light blinks but no pic tomorrow is the superbowl and I have no job please help

Google your make and model's blink code. Count the nuber of blinks and make note if there is a sequence to it. For example, blinks 4 times in a row, pause, then blinks twice. Look for your specific blin code and that will let you know what is wrong with your tv.

On older Sony, sometimes a power surge causes the set to be in shut down mode. Try unplugging for 5 minutes and then plug in and try. This many times will fix.

No picture blinking stand by light

I hve worked on a number of these units , your description is typical of a shorted blue picture tube. The protection circuits in the tv detect that there is a problem thus shutting the unit down to prevent further damage. Sony had a bad run of picture tubes in this series. The replacement cost of the tube is about $250 plus labor. My estimate would be for the repair about $400-500 depending on where you live and how honest your local technican is. I will caution you however, that you could replace this tube and the red or green could go. These would not be covered by the technicians warranty. When these sets are working, they have a superb picture and it is easy to get lured into fixing them. Scrivitron
