Hi,

Have you pressed "fn+(the button with monitor drawing in the keys)" ? Once you connected the cable in of the LCD to the laptop, you must press that first.

May I know the brand and model of you laptop so that i can assist you further?

Thanks.

regards,
longgee

I dont have extra hdmi connections so i use av multi with the red/blue/green(no red/white on cable) conections with an optical cable- which will not play sound. What am i missing?

I honestly thought it would have the white red and yellow as well. If it does try plugging in the yellow along with the ones you already have. If not then try plugging the green into the yellow hole.

I can't get a picture on my tv from my laptop

I know for my dell laptop, you need to hold 'Fn' and 'F8' or CRT/LCD. It varies with model. It's one of those F buttons

My jeep wont start. i turn the key no crank, full battery. any ideas. tried to jump it nothing.diconected and reconeccted the batery still nothing. car was starting perfect no problem. Checked the shifter...

Just, Because you removed the battery connections and reinstalled them
will not repair a bad battery conection. Sounds like you have a bad conection at the battery. You'll need to remove the battery ends and clean
them with, a wire brush or a battery cleaning tool. Always, remove the NEG
conection FIRST,then the POS. After cleaning install the POS FIRST,Then
the NEG. Also, I believe there is a small conector on one of the cables.
Be sure to clean that conection also.
You, did not say if the lights are working.

I conect my laptop to my hitachi lcd 32ld30u b

Your laptop probably has the option to display:
* laptop screen only
* external screen only
* both screens

If your laptop has a key (usually BLUE) labelled FN,
check the other keys that also have BLUE labelling.
Hold down FN, and press the appropriate other BLUE key,
to cycle through the above 3 output options.

I want to hook up a Toshiba laptop to a Panosonic rear projection

VGA, and supervideo only carry the visual signal, so if you use one of this cables, (both the computer and the tv have to have the same output/input) then you have to have a cable attached to the computers audio output to carry audio to the TV. If your computer has HDMI output and the tv has an HDMI input, then that carries both visual and audio. When you attach the video cable to the tv, put the tv on that input source and the computer will sense the device and if the drivers are updated will fire the signal up automatically and give you the choice of using only the tv, or using both the tv and laptop monitor.

Supervideo?

Not sure for that exact model, but it'll be in the set up menu under picture or AV settings.
