My washer keeps filling up with water then it will spin it out and shut off how do I fix it

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer keeps filling with water then will spin out and shut off. This sounds like an issue with your water valve or control panel. I would recommend performing a reset on your washer and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. If that does fix the issue you may want to have a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis. Hopefully this is helpful information. -Matt

Washer tub does not move to spin or wash

You either have a bad solenoid, timer, loose belt, or water level sensor.

Hot water stops filling too soon.

Fill setting has to be adjusted and the belt is slipping on the spin cycle and not generating enough centrifugal force to get the water out.

Stops during rinse cycle

Dear customer,

We recommend the following when a washer's cycles dont advance..
  1. If the washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer does not advance, the timer probably needs to be replaced
  2. If the timer does not advance while the washer is in a spin cycle, the timer probably needs to be replaced
  3. If the timer does not advance during the rinse cycle, check whether water has filled the tub, if not, it is likely cold water related. Check the cold water supply valve, check the supply hose for kinks, check the filter screen and check the water inlet valve
For details on how to self test these parts plz refer to http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/washer/washer.php
Plz rate this solution.. thank you..

Shutting down on rinse cycle

Hi this could means that you may need to replace the washing machine bearings. Once the bearings are bad, the motor overheats and it will automatically shut down after the first rinse.

Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
