I have an Octogonal barrelled L/A, marked Model 92 Winchester 25-20 WCF. Ser No 203049. Is this an 1892 or just a 92 model or is that the same thing. It has a short magazine tube( to the end of the fore end timber). What would be the manufacture date & where can I get support to reassemble the action ( like an exploded view & hints) as I stripped it years ago & now am blueing the bits for reassembly. regards, Dan O'Brien

    Saailer,the websites you directed me to (Winchester) were useless, as they only haveoperator manuals & no exploded views.Luckily my brother has the same model, so I looked in with torch to work it out. I found the numerals 36 under the barrel, so are you sure its a 1926 manufacture? Live fire tomorrow

    That is not the only error...The serial number decode I used is also incorrect....However, all is well...

When was my winchester model 70 made, serial number G2464078
My book only goes up to 92 on that model, G2037985, but that gun averaged approx 50,000 a year production. There are 426,000 between that 92 ser and yours so that would be approx 8 1/2 years. Yours would be 1999-2001. Sorry I can't be more exact.

That serial number is for a 1943 - 1948 manufacture and most go for $250 - $300, in fair condition. More if it's a special model.

I believe the manufacture date to be 1937. This is according to the Blue Book of Gun Values 32nd edition.
