Hello,
This is my second RCA Visys 25204RE1-A replaced from Thompson Electronics.
The display settings for the time and date stamp will not remain at the current time and date. The date keeps resetting it self to 9/11 either by itself randomly or when a call comes in. Then all the cid's also revert to 9/11 at that same incorrect time making it impossible to know when I got a call.
I tried to set the date and time manually and by making a call. The time/date revert back to another time and the date of 9/11 again and again.
I was told to do a cold reset for 15 minutes and have done that several times. I was also told to use a 2 wire v. 4 wire phone connector cord. This things did not help.
If anyone knows of a solution to this please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Hi James9999,
Wow, I thought it was only me who was having this nightmare. I Googled every where for a solution w/no luck. I cannot believe I wasted $70 bones on this phone either.
Anyway, here is what I did over and over besides contact Thompson several times w/out any resolve. I think it has something to do with the voip modem in my case.
The time date stamp still fails w/batteries when the power goes down or there is a surge. Then I get to do the following all over again.
To reprogram the phone: (in this order)
1- d/c power
2- d/c jack
3- remove batteries
4- up-plug the voip modem
5- wait 15 whole minutes
6- reconnect the batteries
7- reconnect the line cord
8- reconnect the voip modem
7- reconnect the power cord
8- reset the time date stamp manually
Since I do not have a data line I also used a 2 wire phone cord not a 4 wire cord.
Seems in my case, the changing time date stamp has something to do with the voip modem reset #4 above. I also called my voip carrier to check my time zone was set properly, which is was.
When the phone is reset to keep the time/date stamp the voip modem needed to be reset as well. I have not been able to duplicate the issue or find the exact cause why yet.
Number to Thompson's Customer Service (if you don't already have it) is 1.800.511.3180
They were not able to help much other than send another phone which did the same thing but not as much.
Hope this helps and good luck! I know this is a royal pain to deal with! I will not buy another RCA phone again either.
